Postini Upgrade: Getting Started FAQ
All customers of Postini Message Recovery or Postini Message Management services are being automatically upgraded to Policy Management and Message Recovery by Postini. Your new service includes all the features of your current service, plus more options for message filtering and management.
When does the upgrade occur?
Your service will be
automatically upgraded between January 23rd and January 30th. We will
send you an email before starting the upgrade and when your upgrade is completed. In most cases, the upgrade will take one day.
There will be no interruption to your service
while the upgrade is taking place.
What do I have to do?
After the automatic upgrade, your service will work as usual, but the way you
access your Message Archive will be different. To view your message
archive:
1) Login as usual (http://login.postini.com) with your login address and password.
2) Click the System Administration link.

3) You will see the Administration Console. Click the "Message
Archiving" link in the right corner to view and search your archive.

How can I use the new features in Policy Management and Message Recovery?
To start using the new features, you first need to add your users through the
Administration Console. For step-by-step instructions, please see the
Setup Tutorial listed on the Getting Started page.
By adding your users, you will be able to :
- Receive highly-effective anti-spam and anti-virus protection adds to Gmail anti-spam filtering. Only valid messages will be stored in your message archive.
- Create email policies for content and attachments (both inbound and outbound)
- Block messages with specific key words or attachments
- Create email policies that apply to specific groups or individual
users
- Add a footer to every message leaving your domain
