My company uses an email marketing service called Constant Contact.
Many times when I send an email out of their email system, there is a
long (up to two hour) delay between the time the email is sent from
their system and the time that I receive it in my Google Apps email
account. The email service is denying that the problem is on their
end (they're blaming Postini and/or my ISP), and since I have very
limited ability to decipher email headers, I'm hoping someone here can
help figure out where the issue is.

Here is a sample header from an email that was delayed for almost two
hours:

Actually it is only about a 43 min delay, providing the 3 hour EST to
PDT time difference from the time it left CC, to it hit your server at
Google. The delay is on CC's part between their two points, not
Postini or Google.

I hate to seem totally clueless (which I am), but since I'm trying to
troubleshoot this with Constant Contact, would you mind helping me
form a sort of timeline from the headers? I just can't seem to put
one and one together from reading it.

Constant Contact should be the people knowing how to read a header.
There is no problem with Postini delaying the message to Google. CC
delayed getting the message to Postini. Email is not real time, never
was or never will be but in most cases it travels well. There are too
many variables with SMTP and the scheduling queue at CC.

Anyway...

It left the CC mailer here...

Postini received it here... - the IP 64.95.77.164 belongs to
c3.confirmedcc.com

Received: from source ([64.95.77.164]) by exprod7mx224.postini.com
([64.18.6.14]) with SMTP;Thu, 24 Jul 2008 09:43:15 PDT

NOTICE THE TIME - it took about 41 min and 32 secs for CC to get it to
Postini.

Postini handed it off to Google here... about 2 secs later.

I know that they should be the ones explaining this... but since
they're incorrectly blaming Postini, I figured I needed some help
setting them straight. I really do appreciate your help.
