To be Read before Waking
Hello Writers! Just a quick note... One of my poems was just published. The site does an excellent job of selecting poems, and pairing them with commentary and audio. Great model for all poetry sites. There is the perfect bit of ambient noise after the first stanza.  [link] Best regards,... more »

Get in the box Poetry boxes
Hello everybody,     As the weather warms and pedestrians crowd the walkways the poems in Poetry Boxes are getting their own special sunshine. Some have voiced concern about posting poems by their favorite poets. I am putting it out there that the Poetry Boxers have my go ahead to use any of my published poems in their boxes. Although I don't think this will sooth too many people's minds, if each of YOU make the same pledge it will go a long way toward assuaging the copyright conscious population. All I am asking is that the poem by printed in the same format it appears when published (afterall I struggle with those line breaks) with my name and the publisher.... more »

Poetry as Dialogue
Hello poets, I thought I'd just send out an email to test this list of "Local Poets". If you want to be removed from the list reply with REMOVE FROM LOCAL POETS in the subject header. If you'd like to suggest someone to be added feel free. I will be using this list occasionally to update you about some of my projects like Poetry Boxes, readings, performances and publications. I'll keep it short and sweet. For example, something like this...Just starting to get my head around the Poetry as Dialogue discussion for The Northwest Poets' Concord if you wanted to help shape it. ... more »

Citys Parks Cost for Occupy Portland
Friends, I am proud of our city for the handling of the Occupy Portland situation and the recent decision to remove the occupation tent encampment. Today I sent a small donation to Portland Parks Foundation to assist with the rehabilitation of Lownsdale and Chapman Square parks. I am asking you to join me in that effort to help cover those costs. I also desire to send a substantive indication to the city government and police that I approve of the handling of the situation - I hope that you may also share that thought.... more »
