I'm using WindowsXP and Picasa 2.6.0 (Build 35.97, 0) installed. In order to have Internet access I MUST login to an authenticated proxy (squid). This works fine for navigating and other stuff... but for Picasa there is no way to connect to my account as long as it doens't seem to recognize the proxy neither the authentication process.
It's interesting because if I configure the proxy (as I'm the proxy administrator!) to bypass the machine ip address so I don't need to authenticate anymore, I can connect to my web album. The problem is that I must have authentication in ALL machines!

1. Just setup IE so that you can open your web album using it. 2. Start IE 3. Start Picasa 4. Click "Blog this" in Picasa. This should pop a proxy identification dialog box. 5. Accept all the subsequent certificates/Install them if asked. Once you reach the blog page, close it. 6. Now Click connect to webalbums on Picasa, enter gmail username/ password and it should connect fine.
The problem is the failure to ask for a proxy which is done by the Blog step. Hope this helps.
