Hi Joel,
Not that I want to rush you or anything, but I was wondering on the
status of the 1.6 release. I'm going to be starting a new project soon
and would love to use the new release. Should I hold off a couple
days, or stick with 1.5?

And the big question... are we getting scaffolding? :-)

Cheers,
Aaron.

Hi Aaron,

We're currently working on the presentation aspects of things, and I'm
planning to put it on http://beta.phpobjectgenerator.com early next
week for a 2-week public beta period, after which it'll go live on the
main site over the new year. We've done some major testing already, but
I'd feel more confident if we still get feedback from outside users.
I'll send a message to this group and the blog when public beta is
launched.

Now, the big question first: yes, there's scaffolding, and that's
mostly what's been driving development. The scaffolding has also
introduced its own set of changes to the objects but all in all, I
personally think 1.6 is a better tool overall than 1.5.

So, if you can wait till next week I'd encourage you to do that, if
not, you can always generate for 1.5, then upgrade in January using
@link. we made sure it's still compatible. The only difference on the
interface side of things is the GetXXXList changing to GetList. So,
your web app would have to be modified whereever you have GetList, but
apart from that it's all good stuff. I'll come up with a complete list
of changes in my next message ;)

Cheers,

Joel

Awesome Joel. Thanks for not completely rewriting the object interface.
I read over the improvements/upgrades and I am definitely excited.
Can't wait to stat beta testing!

Tan.
