Subject: Anchorage voters: Proposition 4 Status Update

The Pool Bond - Proposition 4 - needs your vote tomorrow April 1st.

A few pool supporters staying home could tip the result against us.

This is an off-cycle election which means that the total
turn out is going to be low.

There are only a few hot races that have generated real
interest even though they are all important.

If we do not pass Proposition 4 then there is no chance
that the funds to repair the pools will be available in
the foreseeable future.

We need pool supporters in Eagle River, Chugiak, and
Girdwood to turn out and vote.  Proposition 4 has
to pass area wide - you'll get the chance to use the renovated pools and
will not have to pay any taxes for them!

We need to pass Proposition 4 with a healthy positive margin.

We need matching money from the State to do all the repairs.

The legislature and the Governor will watch the outcome.

The draft Senate capital budget released last week does not
contain any money for the Anchorage pool repairs.

If tomorrow's vote shows strong support for the Pool Bonds,
then it will get their attention and the attention of the House and
Governor.

Proposition 4 and the state match will fail only if you are a supporter
and you do not vote.

There is no organized opposition to it.

There was very little opposition expressed at Community
Council and other group meetings.

Most people feel that the pools are important, but that does
not mean that they will turn out and vote.

We can only count on each other if we are going to succeed.

Be part of the pool restoration process, protect the opportunity for
Anchorage kids to learn to swim, be a good citizen and feel good about
yourself!    Make time to vote on April 1st
