Francis Cator (1928-2007)

Francis Cator, who died 1 December 2007, aed 79, was a scion of the
Cator of Woodbastwick LG family. He was b. 30 June1928, 2nd son of Lt-
Col Henry John Cator (b 25 an 1897), of Woodbastwick Hall, Norwich, by
his 1st wife, Anne Leititia Mary Cayley, 3rd dau of Sir George Cayley,
9th Baronet. Francis's aunt, Elizabeth Cator (1899-59) married a
brother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and was mother of the
17th Earl of Strathmore. Francis was educ at Stowe; he married 13 Oct
1956, the Hon Jacquetta Storey (b 1930), dau of Sir Samuel Storey 1st
Baronet (created a life baron as Lord Buckton), by whom he had issue:-
1.Elisabeth Anne, b 27 Jul 1957, m Rupert Thistlethwayte (descended
fom Portsmouth E)
2.Charles Francis, b 21 Apr 1959, married Mrs Jane Russell, dau of
Robert Culverwell
3.Mark, b 30 Oct 1960, m the Hon Isabel Crossley, dau of 3rd Baron
Somerleyton, KCVO
4. Harry Cator, b 27 May 1964, m Kathleen Jean Mackay.

A Service of Thanksgiving takes place at St Helen's Church, Ranworth
at midday on Thursday December 13th 2007.
