All,

I have a coolant leak – it is very small and I only notice it when I run the engine and it expands or when i let it rest for 1 week without running it. when I play with the two tubes going to the water heater – where the coolant goes through as well, I get some bubbles through the coolant fill point. I suppose there is a leak somewhere in the water heater. I can’t see anything coming out though underneath (at least obvious). Also the two tubes seem ok. I was going to short the water circuit by simply putting a new tube looping directly to bypass the water heater in full (I don’t need hot water anyway) but wanted to see if anyone has had this problem before or something similar which may guide me.

Best regards

JP

I think you have a great idea. Try it. Incidently, the leaking coolant would not drip out. You would only know the leak was from the waterheater heat exchanger into the hot water reservoir when you go blind from drinking too much antifreeze!
