THE PS3 Advantages

What exactly do all of yall think the advantages of the PS3 is over
the xbox 360?

Hey Dylan,

I have ordered, but not received a PS3. I will use it first as a home
media center, only rarely for games
I choose it over the Xbox because:
1) it is quieter - Xbox is noisy
2) built in wireless - MS charges like $100 for a proprietary wireless
card - cheesy
3) Build in blue ray DVD - MS charges extra for the DVD player
4) 40 gig HD - MS has 20 - heck, my OLD ipod has 20 gig
5) elegant menus - my wife will be watching .avi files and she is
computer illiterate

I'll let you know what I think of it next week after I install

If I was a big time gamer I might have chosen xbox for the abundance
of titles

I'm getting a 40Gb PS3 for (almost all) the very same reasons.
- Built in WiFi -- Was going to get an XBox 360, but having to
purchase an accessory to achieve the same thing the PS3 does on it's
own.
- Blue-Ray -- From what I've been reading online lately, Blue-Ray is
likely to be successor to DVD.
- 40Gb HDD -- Why get an XBox360 with half the storage space?
- Multimedia -- Media streaming over my home wireless LAN sold it to
me. To be able to stream music and video from my PC is a huge plus.
Means I can watch movies in the living room, while my wife is on the
net, or without having to burn to DVD disc first.
- Game titles -- I was leaning toward the XBox because it's larger
selection of titles. There is a growing number of titles for the PS3
now, including some awesome releases coming in 2008 (GTA4! FTW!)

Dollar for dollar, I'd be getting more out of the PS3, than I would
with an XBox360, and future-proofing my 'investment' :)
