leadership fading?

They are falling like a string of dominos, Governors Sanford, Palin
and a number of other Republican leaders, many of them claiming to be
Christians. There is no commanding figure ready and able to lead the
GOP. It's like the opposition to Obama is being neutralized or
removed. I marveled at the blind love, devotion and herd effect for
Obama; how his falsehoods were dismissed as unimportant; how his
controversial associations were ignored; how one with no record of
leadership could become such a leader and wondered if it was a
function of 2 Thess 2, i.e.
"10 And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception
for those who are perishing because they did not welcome the Truth but
refused to love it that they might be saved.  11 Therefore God sends
upon them a misleading influence, a working of error and a strong
delusion to allow them to believe what is false, 12 In order that all
may be judged and condemned who did not believe in [who refused to
adhere to, trust in, and rely on] the Truth, but [instead] took
pleasure in unrighteousness."

It's as if God  has removed the moral lighthouses and has cut America
loose to go the direction that the majority wants, which is their own
way - amorality, immorality, atheism, humanism, abortion, pornography,
profanity, vulgarity - and not Jesus' Way, so that the justification
for catastrophic judgment on America would be apparent to and
understood by all.

Ezek 14:12 The word of the Lord came [again] to me, saying,  13 Son of
man, when a land sins against Me by committing a trespass, and I
stretch out My hand against it and break its staff of bread and send
famine upon it and cut off from it man and beast, . . . 15 If I cause
ferocious and evil wild animals to pass through the land and they
ravage and bereave it, and it becomes desolate so that no man may pass
through because of the beasts; . . .  17 Or if I bring a sword upon
that land and say, Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off man
and beast from it, . . . 19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land
and pour out My wrath upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and
beast,  20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, says
the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would
but deliver their own lives by their [God given] righteousness
[granted by God for their faith in Him]

No one can blame Sarah Palin for resigning as Governor given the facts
that [1] Sarah was forced to spend 80% of her time defending herself
against legal attacks; [2] The Alaskan government had to spend 2
million dollars defending her; and [3] Sarah and her family are now
500 million in debt to lawyers because of unwarranted and groundless
attacks on her and her character.  If my employment or position was
putting my family $500K in debt to lawyers, I would quit that
employment/position in a heartbeat. Can you imagine how crushing the
burden of that debt can be for a middle class family like the Palin's.
If it were my family we would have to declare bankruptcy. There is no
question that Sarah Palin and all Bible believing and Jesus obeying
Christian are the objects of attack because of their acceptance of
God's Word re creation, morality, homosexuality, God, Love, Truth,
enlghtenment and enduring Life.

Consider this comparison of the homosexual, atheist, secularist and
humanist attacks on Christians to the Nazi attacks on Christians.

The comparison and parrallels that I see: . . . The probable reason
for the homosexuals', atheists', secularists' and humanists' attack on
Christianity in America is their perception that it alone had the
moral authority to stop the homosexual, atheist, secularist and
humanist  Christless and amoral movement. But Christians stumbled
before the flood of evil. As moral barriers collapse under the impact
of homosexual, atheist, secularist and humanist  preaching...the same
anti-Semitic movement that led to the atheistic, evolutionist and
materialist Nazis and their slaughter of the Jews gives scope and
license to the homosexual, atheist, secularist and humanist  obscene
revolt against Jesus and the moral law. An open and implacable war was
declared on the Christian tradition...which has unleashed a frenzied
and unavowed hatred of Christ, the Bible and Christians.
