One of the attachments to the messages below includes an image of the Police Department's wanted poster.

I tried and failed to find a copy of the wanted poster online.  It it is online, it is extremely well hidden! 

Why?  Wouldn't more people see these wanted posters if they were online, or if the police department made more of an effort to distribute them?

If they were online, I would certainly link to them from gorypg.blogspot.com in the same way I link to police press releases, and would probably also post the pictures.

Is there some ggod reason that police don't put these online where they can be indexed by search engines and found easily?

The police department's crime-mapping site is user-unfriendly and often way out of date.  Their online crime statistics are incomplete and rarely updated.  Now this.  What, if anything, can we do to improve the police department's use of the Internet for communicating with the public about crime?
