Quote of the Day : "The Truth is heavy, therefore few care to carry
it. "
Yesterday
delivered a major blow to the progressive movement in NJ with the defeat of Jon
Corzine and Loretta Weinberg.
Unfortunately any hopes of
gaining Marriage Equality or the passage of the resolution for Single Payer in
NJ has been diminished.
From the little I have
listened to MSM remarks concerning the election yesterday, it seems they are
portraying it more as a failure of Obama to take the leadership role as promised
in his campaign last year.
Too many who were energized
last year into believing promises of Obama as being progressive in
ending the wars, providing affordable healthcare, and restoring financial
stability, didn't bother to show up at the polls due to the
helpless feeling of "what's the use" or for reasons
similar to 1994 when they voted for the Repugs to show their disappointment
in the failure of the Dems to pass healthcare reform back then.
The end results of both
attitudes caused profound circumstances . 1994 began the reign of
Republican terrorists into the destruction of what little moral values
and fiduciary
responsibilities there was left .
Since then it has been a
down hill spiral into a barbarian civilization where torture , the
occupation and destruction of other nations and the plundering of
our financial institutions is acceptable. Where the elected
"servants" of the people have their coffers filled by corporate elite and do
their bidding, instead of looking out for the good of people as a whole.
Next year there is another
important race in NJ, one of our senators is up for re-election. I know Menendez
has been a disappointment on many fronts, but now is the time to let him know we
will not allow him to pander any longer to the right leanings if he wishes
our support. No More Patriot Act! No More Military Commissions Act! No More
Giving Into Pharma Contributors & Denying Healthcare Reform
!!!!
Time to let him know we expect
him to support Bernie Sanders S700 bill for single payer,we want him to
support Feingold's bill S1686 and if it gets to the Senate , house bill
HR104 .The bill would establish a commission to investigate policies of the
Bush Administration and reign in presidential
powers .
Many of you have been missing
from the progressive movement, but everyday you justify your absence, there are
other movements gaining strength to make our job harder...... remember the
912 tea baggers are growing beyond belief.
If you don't think they didn't
play a part in yesterday, you are easily fooled !!!! Who do you think was
pushing the ACORN fraud issue?
In closing I
leave you with this question ....... if Tea Baggers can hold weekly meetings for
strategy sessions, why is it so hard for progressives to even make one meeting a
month?
Be sure to read the
irregularities from yesterdays election:

New Brunswick Ballot Question Yet to
Be Decided
Voter
Irregularities Appear Widespread
New Brunswick, NJ: A hotly
contested ballot question pertaining to the form of New Brunswick’s municipal
charter is still yet to be settled. At present, over 180 provisional ballots
have yet to be counted, which will likely determine the outcome of this race,
whose margin is 113 votes.
Further complicating the election
are widespread accounts of voter suppression, fraud and irregularities that are
being brought forward by election monitors and community leaders.
“These
unconscionable actions are the last ditch effort of an entrenched political
machine that is more concerned with maintaining power than addressing the
concerns of their constituents,” said Martin Perez, Chair Person for the
Coalition for Democracy, “We will work to make sure the voice of the people of
New Brunswick is heard,” added Perez.
Among numerous concerns raised are
legitimate voters being turned away at the polls, residents casting double
ballots and poll clerks telling voters the way they should vote on the municipal
question.
“Voters from all over the City are
demanding a voice, and as we have seen so many times before, the city is
throttling our voice,” said Martha Guarnrei, President of Empower Our
Neighborhoods.
