I will be setting up a petition and formulating a letter to our legislators
to sponsor the resolution currently awaiting a vote.
<<<<hint,hint.....if someone would like to help writing the
letter....I would greatly appreciate it !
For those troubled by the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision and
what it means to our democracy, as well as by the many longstanding problems of
money in politics, there is a new group forming in South Jersey / Camden
County. South Jersey’s “Democracy is for People” will meet on Thursday,
May 24, 2012 at 6:45 PM at the Voorhees Public Library. This meeting will
be informational for those who are still learning about the problem, its history
and some of the solutions being discussed. If you already know the issue,
then please come help us explain it.
The meeting will also include
discussion and organizing. As a group we can then speak clearly to state
and local elected officials to support an amendment to the constitution and to
resist the influence of money in governance and electioneering. We are
talking with legislators, but we need a louder voice.
The goal of
Getting Money Out of Politics is a non-partisan cause to restore governance to
the people.
Corporations are not people and Money is not free
speech
