Several Possibilities Joe:
I have read where Sp3 interferes with drive letters on flash drives,
but of course I can't find that reference now...look in disk
management and see if you can assign a drive letter if this is your
issue.
Any other usb drives that could be considered a hard drive plugged in
at same time? You know Sp3 was supposed to solve the multiple usb
storage drive issue but didn't, and in some cases worsened it. BTW I
have a Canon Pixma D6220 printer one pc insists on calling a hard
drive probably because it can take jump and flash drives as well as
compact flash cards.

It's not an SP3 issue in my case.
I had the same problem ever since I owed this computer from SP2 XPRO until now

THAT is strange. You must have a HC card reader. Most SD card readers
can't handle more than 2G!!
