Hi all,

I'm a casual member of this group, but I have an idea. Grassroots
Films is a Catholic production company based in New York and made the
acclaimed "Fishers of Men" vocation video (http://video.google.com/
videoplay?docid=-7888067787359415127). They have a new film called
"The Human Experience" which follows two brothers as the search for
what it means to be human. You can view the trailer here:

http://www.grassrootsfilms.com/thehumanexperience/trailer/flash-large.html

It is currently only being shown at pre-scheduled screenings. I
inquired with them what it takes to get a screening and this was their
response:

Thank you for your continued interest in Grassroots Films and The
Human Experience. If you are interested in Hosting a pre screening of
the film I would be happy to assist you. I have a few questions for
you, where would you be interested in showing the film? Do you have a
movie theater selected or are you thinking more along the lines of at
your school? If your thinking school we require that they have a large
screen, and a top notch sound system!
We require that a host (you, your school, school club) be responsible
for having two Grassroots films staff members come and present the
film. We will provide a Q&A or panel discussion after the film which
works really well. There is also a small stipend included.

Is this something our group could do? Do we have funds/facilities to
do this? I'm guessing it's a little late to pull it off this semester,
but seeing as we're graduate students, we'll probably be here over the
summer. Goodrich Quality Theaters in Lafayette had screening of the
film Bella, so they might be open to this.

I imagine we could get plenty of interest from students and
parishioners at St. Tom's and throughout Purdue, perhaps we could get
a few to come down from Notre Dame.

Let me know what you think, and if this is a possibility, I'll start
working with the Grassroots folks.

Eric, I think it is a very good idea.  Call me and we can talk about what needs to be done.
