God Is Not A Leftist Calvin Protester

Description:   Discuss ideas without bashing Bush as a non-Christian

God Is Not A Leftist Calvin Protester

The leftists protesters at Calvin thought it was politically effective
to have buttons that said "God is not a Republican or a Democrat".
That implies that Bush DOES think that God is a Republican, and that
they need to set him straight.

But they were wrong. As Bush said in many ways over many years, and
repeated again at Calvin:

"As the Class of 2005 goes out into the world, I ask you to embrace
this tradition of service and help set an example for all Americans. As
Americans we share an agenda that calls us to action -- a great
responsibility to serve and love others, a responsibility that goes
back to the greatest commandment.

This isn't a Democratic idea. This isn't a Republican idea. This is an
American idea."

So the real issue here is, is God on the side of the leftist
protesters? Or are they trying to use their Christianity as a tool in a
political fight?   Why don't they promote their ideas on their own
merit, instead of trying to bash Bush for his "un-Christian"
policies on the poor, the war, etc.?

The reason is that their liberal policies cannot stand the scrutiny of
logic, reason, history or the truth. So, they need the crutch of trying
to impugn Bush's policies on the basis of them not being
"Christian", which also does not hold up to scrutiny.

This new forum, "God Is Not A Leftist Calvin Protestor", will
document the attempts of the left to use Christianity to further their
failed liberal policies.
