The file is PR127 MILSYS. Sorry, but any vehicle I work on has to have a
project number; it makes the record keeping easier. MILSYS stands for
Master Inventory List of vehicle Systems.
The part number structure is as follows:
OSSR04U
OSSR - I think we all know the answer to this one. Typically this would be
the project number, but that's not my place.
04 - The section of the vehicle the component references
01 - Electrics
02 - Battery/Alternator (Technically electrics, but this BOM was derived
from that of a road car)
03 - Omitted
04 - Suspension
05 - Brakes
06 - Clutch
07 - Transaxle
08 - Omitted
09 - Wheels/Tires
10 - Exterior
11 - Interior
12 - Chassis
13 - Engine
14 - Oil System
15 - Fuel System
16 - Cooling System
17 - Steering
U - The unique identifying character for each system. If the letter
designator indicates a subassembly, the part number is proceeded by a dash
and three digits. OSSR12F-004 would be the front bulkhead that's bonded
into the main tub assembly of a composite chassis.
I know it's not complete - although I could have completed it, I think this
should be a group effort.
