Subject: Why does Nintendo snub multiregion gaming in their gaming consoles?
With the new DSi close to its release in the English speaking nations,
we all are informed that it will be regionally protected for its
Dsiware store. In other words, similar to its console counterpart-the
Wii, users will only be able to purchase game from the online store
that is tied to the region of their machines. The DS was a success
partially because it is a region free handheld consoles.
What are your thoughts about a region restricted console like the ones
from Nintendo?
Personally, I will prefer to have a multi region consoles instead of a
regionally fixed console  although I am a nintendo console owner
myself.

Not really. In Mario kart wii, players from all around the world are
able to play an online race at anytime of the day. All I am trying to
say that the Wii, unlike the the dslite, is unable to play games from
other regions like for example if you have a US wii system, you will
not be able to play a Japanese Wii software on your system without
making some hardware modifications. I will like to see Nintendo make
its next system region free so players will be able to buy software
and play it on the system without going through the pain of buying an
imported wii.
