Subject: A.M.E.C. Economy Run III - August 23, 2009

Hello Economy Run drivers,

I am very pleased to announce that we have set the date for Economy Run III. The date is August 23rd and we will be having our A.M.E.C. summer picnic immediately following the event. All Economy run participants are invited to join us for awards and a picnic lunch at Northampton Beach Campground located on Housmann Street, in Mayfield, [it's actually closer to Northville] NY. Their website is here:

http://tinyurl.com/muuuzc. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the map links. The picnic pavilion and beach are right on the shore of beautiful Sacandaga lake. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and soda will be served.

Entry fee for the EconomyRun III will remain at $10 per car and there is an $8 gate charge per carload to enter the park. You are all invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch on A.M.E.C. once in the park.

Due to the location of Northampton Beach Campground this year's event has been adjusted to approx. 94 miles in total distance, as we will be going right by the lake during our run down the mountain on Route 30 south. There is no sense in having everyone go all the way back to Fonda [where we started] and then turn them all around and go all the way back up Route 30 north [48 miles round trip] to Northamptom Beach Campground.

Plans are being made to finish the event at the Citgo [at 746 NY-30, in Northville]. They are less than a mile from Northampton Beach Campground and their lot is plenty big. I just have to check with them and make sure they will allow us to finish our event there. Further details are forthcoming, but I wanted you all to get the date on your calendars.

Please forward this message to any and all of your fellow car enthusiast friends. Historic cars [pre '75] are not only allowed, they are encouraged. There will be a separate award for best Historic car this year. This will be a beautiful drive through the southern Adirondack Mountains for your classic car. If saving gas is not your thing, consider this a fun road rally. Bring out the vintage tin!

For more details and to follow the latest on this event, please check the most recent posts in this thread of our message board: http://www.runboard.com/bamecmessageboard.f1.t28349 .

Regards,

Michael Kamm

I hope I am not spamming the group, but I am a lurker here. On July 11th and 12th myself and 70 other crazed gear heads are going to be racing in the 24 Hours of LeMons at Stafford Raceway in Stafford Springs CT. You have heard of the 24 Hours of Lemans, well this aint that. It LeMons not Lemans. Here is a link to the site. http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/ Our team (Team Pro-Crash-Duh-Nation) is running an Alfa Romeo Milano because we like two other compatriot teams are gluttons for the particular brand of automotive punishment only a fine italian car can deal out. That is if I can actually get the car back together before the flag drops, we have the transaxle apart right now.

Thats right, 3 count them 3 Alfa Milanos in action. Anyway we will be pretty busy keeping our car on track for the entire event but if anyone is interested in stopping by and saying hello please feel free.

Greg,

Looks like a hoot...  Sorry I can't make it this year.

Noticed your email address...  I'm looking for a tapered residential flagpole at this very moment.  Are you the right guy to be talking to?  Do you sell through reps?  Direct?

Thanks,

Ben M.

Hi Ben,
It is a helluva race. I take it pretty seriously but not everyone does.

Regarding flagpoles we make them by the truckload but no longer sell them individually. I can put in a word for you with one of our customers who retails them and get you a good price if you like.

Dan is good people, we like Dan.
