I've just had this link sent to me from one of my buddies in the UK.

It shows footage of a special RallyCross event from the past when the Hot Rods ( oval racing sedans) challenged the RallyCross guys on their own ground. It was taken at the Long Marston track in the UK back in 1976

Yep, that 105E 'anglebox' as we called them,  was very quick, and George Polley # 306 was one of the best Hot Rod drivers of all time. He and Barry Lee # 351 in the Escort , (the guy he was dueling with) , was always his big rival. Back in the 70's you were either a Polley or a Lee fan. I cheered for Polley ! ... As you can see by the video both of them ( oval racers) white washed the Rally Cross oponents.

It was racing mostly Minis ferchrissake!

In any case, pretty amazing racing.

Can you imagine the CNYIRA crowd doing that without touching fenders?
