The next launch is on Saturday January 8th. If you are comming, please post a responce to the group email address. Also if you have any special needs for engines, kits or parts, let us know so we can make sure their brought to the onsite store.
Launch dates past June have not been scheduled yet. While we will schedule dates for Washington Middle School past June, we are hoping that we will be able to get an alternant site by then for launching larger midpower rockets up to G engine size. If that happens, we will most likely have one launch at Washington Middle School per month and another one at a new site every month as well.
You can use this discussion group for anything model rocket related you would like to discuss with other members and associates of the NSDC NAR Model ROcket Club.
I'm going to try to make the launch! if the weather holds up for us. I may try to get my red pyramid to fly straight- if I have enough bbs to get cp-cg correct.
Will said he might make it between the AMA convention in Pomona. Anyone else
have a conflict?
Will also told me the first day without rain forecast is Saturday. The

#1 and check the CP postion for a conical nose. I believe it's .666 (that
number again). Getting the CG ahead of this by one body tube diameter will
be a challenge for the pyramid shape. Kinda hard to string test too.
When you launched it, it did'nt wobble it looped. However, on a good note it
stuck into the ground nose first. This must mean it was stable as soon as
the fuel was gone.
Hopefully we can fit the launch in between rain storms. The forecast says
Saturday and Sunday have the lowest chance of showers for both this week and
next.
Usually they're right about the rain itself, but not the timing. It could be
plus or minus 1 or 2 days for a week long forecast. I'd guess we have about
a 50% chance of getting the launch in. We'll know by Friday night anyway.
This email group is a great way of getting the word out in hours instead of
days. It sure would be great if we could get everyone on the group list so
that they could view the discussion regularly. Especially the last day or so
before launches.

As I sit here at the computer and watch the cats and dogs fall from the sky I feel that our chances of a successful launchs are slim.
Did anyone see the national launch scheduled for plaster city? There is a link on the NAR websight. I think we should go- I might re-try my level 3 attempt if time- money- and the stars all line up in proper order. I am also working on a quaxi scale 'moonliner' rocket- Thanks for the kit Jim. And here is a question for those of you who are more mathmaticly inclined- If the model is 1/144 and I up-scale the model x3 what is the new scale size?
It looks as if were going to be rained out for our launch tomorrow.
Hopefully with two launches a month through the rainy season we can get at
least on in per month.
Set you calendar for the next launch on Saturday Jan 22nd.
We invited many people to the NSDC NAR News Group. Can we get a roll call?
If you are receiving the North San Diego County NAR Model Rocket Club News
Group emails, please take a minute and reply so that we can get an
assessment of whether this method of getting the word out is working.

The rain has to stop sometime even if its 40 days and 40 nights. It look as
if the low pressure zone moved North-East instead of North as predicted.
This is why the storm delayed moving through. It sort of rotated around us
so that we remained just inside the perimeter. They are predicting clearing
Wednesday and sunny days after that.
Apparently there is a high pressure zone moving up from Mexico and if it
moves as slow as the low pressure zone that moved through over the last
couple of weeks, we should have clear days ahead for awhile.
I'm planning on going to the national sport launch. I not sure yet but Ruby
and myself may have the store there. It would be nice to have a booth for
the club as well. If we have the store there then the pop-ups will be
unavailable as the pop-ups are not club owned.
It would be nice if someone could step up to setup and organize a club booth
so Ruby and I can be free to run the store. It's no problem to set up next
to the store and some of us may want to band together in the same area.

Looks like I'm going to have to work :-(. When you are newly returning to a job you don't get much say in your hours "Hey boss I need time off to play with model rockets!"
Plaster City launches are a real kick if you haven't been- and if you have. Camping is cheep, $5. but primative. Some guys have ultra delux RV's others-like me- have tents. I don't have the schedule though, usualy they launch the first weekend of the month. Two events you DO NOT want to miss out there are going to be the national sport launch and of course plaster blaster! I might re-try a level 3 at one of those two events. If I have enough epoxy (Jim?) and courage.

We plan on being at the field tomorrow (of course if it doesn't rain). Blankety blank... the rain! We keep getting rained out. So, if it doesn't rain we hope to see you out there. It's been to long since our last Launch.
Tomorrow morning, we'll update you on the Launch by email, whether the Launch is on or scrubbed. Hope everyone is keeping their head above water!

The Vista Unified District notified us 14 hours before the launch that they
had scheduled a Soccer Tournament on our pre-scheduled launch date. We're
not sure how this happened as we had obtained permission from the school
district for this date this past September. It's unfortunate that they did
not notify us until the day before. We can only hope that this is not a
regular event. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's out of our hands.
Our next launch is on April 23rd. Hope to see you there!
Hope they get rained out, but if they do they’ll probably want out next
launch date too.
