You're certainly welcome to pass my report along, it helps to know where and when folks are finding these. I think you guys are likely to have a great hunt tomorrow, unfortunately I'll be down in Marion which may or may not be seeing morels just yet, though we're going to do some looking anyway. The brown shrooms pictured below were associated with the morels I found, I have not opened my book to identify them yet but I found it interesting that they were growing in the very same area.

Hi Becky,
I found these yesterday on the border of Henry and Pittsylvania counties, on private property near Turkeycock Wildlife Management Area. They were very fresh- no bugs or anything. North-facing well-drained slope beneath 25-30 year-old poplar. Most were found at about 1,000 ft. in elevation, with a few further down slope in a drainage. Spent about an hour hunting them before I had to get back to work.
