Found morels today

Found some morels today. Near tulip poplars in open fields. We have had alot of rain out here in Floyd the last few days...Picture attached.

At the Mt. Rogers Naturalist Rally yesterday we found 8 old Black Morels and one really fresh, big Morchella esculentoides on my Mushroom Walk. Then one the way home, five of us Master Naturalists drove back through Fairview stopping at some of the apple trees and we found one really dirty esculentoides next to the road and a couple of huge stumps. I never would have considered hunting on May 12 before, but I just might have to go out today for one last hurrah!
