  hey. me and some folks are trying to organize people to go protest/shutdown the RNC convention in Minneapolis in September a la the Seattle WTO mtg. in 1999. there will also be a huge legal anti-war march, etc..... &lt;br&gt; if anyone on this list is interested in this, please email me back. fighting the likes of the LA family forum and other hardcore GOPers is something i think every atheist can get behind! or if you can&#39;t go but want to help in other ways, let me know. we will probably be driving up in a caravan of cars.

  i read those sentences to be asking &amp;quot;how do you know your parents are your parents and you are not the spawn of some kind of creatures?&amp;quot; &lt;br&gt; A much more philosophical question. we don&#39;t KNOW our parents are ours, we just believe what people tell us. but it&#39;s also less funny that way.

  you know, what i was thinking the other day about belief in god was that people believe in God to allow them the courage/stength/energy to do things they might not otherwise do. granted, often these things are fighting for anti-gay-marriage initiatives or inquisitions or taking people&#39;s money, but sometimes it&#39;s for cooking a big meal and feeding the homeless after a long day of work. i think many of those people probably don&#39;t beleive that god ACTUALLY exists in their rational conscious minds, but they allow themselves to believe it in order to give them the extra push they need to carry out tasks they otherwise probably wouldn&#39;t do.
