I know you have been alarmed at the number of armed robberies
plaguing the Second District. As a result of assistance from alert
citizens, good police work, and a little luck, we have made
significant progess in combating the problem: Thanks again for all of
you for your assistance and support.
**** 14 robberies cleared since 9-30-08****
First group of robbery clearances:
1) Car Jacking occurred on 9-30-08 at 3400 South Claiborne
Arrested: Dan Raymond, b/m, 12-18-86, 3221 Toledano
2) Car Jacking occurred on 9-30-08 in 2900 block of La. Avenue
Arrested: T’Dayrol Scott, b/m, 12-18-86 3221 Toledano
3) Car Jacking occurred on 9-30-08 at 1922 Marengo
Arrested: Dan Raymond, T’Daryl Scott
Wanted Alvin Clay b/m 12-13-85, 1242 Congress
Search warrant executed at 3221 Toledano. This was residence of Dan
Raymond and T’ Daryl Scott. Officers seized a .357 revolver, 9mm
handgun, .38 caliber revolver, assault rifle with obliterated serial
number, 8.44 grams of heroin, and 7.49 grams of crack cocaine.
4) Dan Raymond was rebooked after being identified by victim for Car
Jacking that occurred on 9-29-08 at 3434 St. Charles
Second group of robbery clearances:
1) Armed robbery of business occurred on 10-01-08 “Up In Smoke” 4507
Magazine
Arrested: Maurice Langston b/m 11-02-92 4836 Constance (juvenile)
2) Armed robbery occurred on 10-13-08 in 1100 block of Lyons
Arrested: Maurice Langston
3) Armed robbery of business occurred on 10-13-08 “New York Pizza”
5201 Magazine
Arrested: Maurice Langston
4) Armed robbery of business occurred on 10-14-08 “Laurel Street
Bakery” 5433 Laurel
Arrested: Maurice Langston charged with attempt murder of parole
agent, armed robbery, and possession of stolen automobile
Arrested: Melvin Burton b/m 7-30-91 5123 Laurel Street charged with
possession of stolen automobile
only
5) Melvin Burton was rebooked after being identified by victim for
robbery of business that occurred on 9-14-08 at 5201 Magazine “New
York Pizza”
6) Melvin Burton was rebooked after being identified by victim for
robbery of business that occurred on 6-27-08 at 4801 Tchoupitoulas
“Hansens Snowballs”
Third group of robbery clearances:
1) Armed robbery occurred on 10-15-08 in the 1500 block of Fern
Arrested: Rocard Sebastier b/m 9-21-91 1929 Cohn Street
2) Simple robbery occurred on 10-17-08 at South Carrollton and Palm
Arrested: Rochard Sabatier b/m 9-21-91
Known (Juvenile) 8321 Spruce
3) Attempt Simple Robbery occurred on 10-17-08 at 2032 South
Carrollton
Arrested: Rochard Sabatier and Known (Juvenile)
****Rochard Sabatier was rebooked for auto burglary after being
identified by victim which occurred on 10-15-08 at Burdette and
Hampson. (took victims purse)
Unrelated robbery clearance:
Two known juveniles , arrested at 3520 Dryades after attempting to
take money from victim.
Current Robberies for week:

On Sunday, 10/19/08, at approximately 12:06 pm, the victim was
approached by a black male subject while standing outside of his
residence in the 1200 block Lowerline Street. The suspect, described
as a black male, 6'02", thin, dark complexion, wearing all black with
a black baseball cap, produced a small dark colored semi automatic
handgun and stated " give me your wallet". The victim complied and
the suspect fled the scene in possession of the victim's wallet, which
contained.

The victim stated he exited his residence on the 7300 block of
Sycamore on 10-22-08, at approximately 5:45a.m., The victim stated he
opened the rear driver's side door, then he observed the unknown black
male walking eastbound on Sycamore Street on the sidewalk and stated,
"What's up", but the subject never responded and continued to walk.
The victim stated he closed the driver's side rear passenger door,
and proceeded to attempt to open the driver's door when a silver
handgun was pointed in his face and the victim complied giving the
suspect his wallet and the subject fled on Sycamore Street then
unknown. The subject is identified as a black male, 20-25 years of
age, 5'11, 150lbs,thin build, dark complexion, shoulder length dreads
wearing a black or dark colored hoodie and blue jeans.

The victim, , was sitting on the front steps of 8800 block of
Colipissa (his home) fixing a bicycle. The victim was approached by
an unknown black male riding a gray mountain bike. The black male
asked, "You got change for a ten?" The victim responded, "No money".
The black male then produced a black semi-automatic handgun (right
front pants pocket) and stated something to the victim that he could
not understand. The victim did not speak English. The victim assumed
that he was being robbed and simply handed the perpetrator his brown
wallet. The black male then fled on Colipissa towards Monticello then
unknown. The black male was described as being 5'6", 120 lbs, 16 to 17
years of age, wearing a black hooded sweat-shirt with the hood over
his head and blue jeans.

The victim, was standing in front of his residence (1030 Cadiz)
talking on his cellular when two unknown black males walked past him.
Suddenly one of the black males, described as being 15 to 16 years of
age, thin build, 5'6", dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, black
pants with a white shirt or bandana tied around his neck, grabbed the
cellular phone from the victim. The second black male, described as
being 15 to 16 years of age, thin build, 5'6", dressed in a black
hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head and black pants, pointed
an unknown black handgun at the victim. The first black male reached
into the victim's front right pocket and retrieved the victim's
wallet.
