Betty,

I am surprised by this!

I don't know Shane, but I found his presentation very political.  Lots of words, that say NOTHING!  Typical RID.  Then I am puzzled because Deaf people I know, whom are aware of what is going on with Lewis and Naomi and RIDs shameful way of responding....well....these folks they say they personally know Shane, have worked with him and they are not surprised RID choose him as a mouth piece.  They have no respect for him.  My gut tells me to trust Lewis and Naomi's need to resign, but I and the Deaf folks whom I know say it says something that they did not stay on a board if for no other reason than to support a Deaf Exec. Director?

I don't know what to think?  This ties into that question of who is Deaf enough, who is a good interpreter vs bad interpreter, who is a real CODA, who has Deaf Heart and who gets to say one has Deaf Heart?  The whole infighting makes me so weary and sad.  I just want to retire and go meditate on a white sand beach and pretend none of it exists.

    Dear Bill and All.

If this ever comes to pass, I would hope that nominations would go to IDP
for screening (at least to verify status.)

Wish you were at Street Leverage Live in Atlanta. I am more hopeful than
ever. Shane Feldman "hears" us and wants even more input. He really gets
it. Now it is up to us to nominate people who are courageous leaders who
will make our vision a reality.
