Hi All

Dont know which ( if you do ) professional bodies you belong to.

but here is a snippet from William Broom of the GHR which means you
may ( will if you belong to the GHR ) be able to add letters NRH after
your name.

National Regulatory Register for Hypnotherapy Established Over 3,800
UK Hypnotherapists registered at start up
Major goal of Voluntary Self-regulation (VSR) now achieved by
increasingly unified profession

In early 2007, the Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation responded
to the need for a truly unitary and national register by creating an
interim register of hypnotherapy professionals, consisting of a list
of assenting professional bodies.

The Working Group has now moved on to the next phase of this project
and for the first time in the UK a single, unitary, national register
of professional hypnotherapists has been created and is available to
members of the public. This is a significant leap forward and answers
the criticisms that hypnotherapy is a divided or immature profession
within Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

At launch, the register maintains in excess of 3,800 practising UK
hypnotherapists and we expect to go far beyond this in the future.

The existence of the Register is one of the fundamental building
blocks of the Voluntary Self-Regulation of the profession. For the
first time, members of the public can search a database which crosses
the boundaries of professional bodies and individual training
backgrounds; for the first time there is a central and national
resource for NHS Primary Care Trusts and other interested parties.

Entry to the Register is currently available via membership of those
professional bodies which participate in the Working Group and who set
appropriate criteria for membership. After an initial grand-parenting
phase, the Working Group will, by a process of democratic consensus
and open consultation within the profession, establish a set of common
entry criteria to the Register. The Register will be updated
regularly. Individual hypnotherapists wishing to join the Register
will need to join a participating professional body and request entry
via that professional body. (N.B. All GHR practitioners are now
included within the National Regulatory Register as an automatic
benefit of their registration and this is yet another excellent reason
for maintaining registration with us.)

Registration is free

All UK hypnotherapists on the register shall be entitled to advertise
as "Accredited by the National Regulatory Register for Hypnotherapy".
In order to provide further clarity to the public, such therapists are
entitled to the designation "NRH" (i.e. Nationally Registered
Hypnotherapist.)

To access the Register, visit the Working Group's site at
www.hypnotherapyregulation.co.uk and click the appropriate item from
the menu.
