All right friends, last time we did an exhibit, we rushed to put the
thing together in six days.  Let's take advantage of the time we've got
and begin to plan and visualize what we can do this time around.  Hit

My 2 cents:  What about having several "Best of" displays from our
shoots.  For example, best photos from Night Shoot at the Basin,
Best photos from Adams Morgan, best Black & White, etc.  Of course
I'd also like a generic "Best of Nature" personally.  Everyone's
work would be mixed together, though labeled.
This is just one idea and I'm not stuck on it.  What do the rest think?

Thanks for taking the time to jot down some idea, Karen.  I'm going to
take the liberty of paraphrasing and say that you think it would be neat to
have themes for the photos.  Expanding on that idea, maybe the themes could
be locations, subject matter, camera angle, colors, or style.  Suggestions?
Anybody??

I should mention that those who were a part of the group, but won't be
around for the exhibit are still welcome to participate.  Angela, Laura,
Stuart, and Rachelle come to mind.  Just because you won't be in town
doesn't mean we can't enjoy the pictures you've taken.  =)

Also, I still have all the boards/pictures from our last exhibit.  Maybe we
can use them again??

For the record, I'm all about finding the least expensive way to pull this
off and still make it look good.  Nobody needs to break the bank for this,
so don't let that stop you.

All right, peeps, let's hear some chatter around here  =)

Themes are a great way to go. It is much easier to select photos to
display once you come up with a system for grouping them!

I'm curious how the exhibit will look in the space at Ebenezers. Good
luck with everything guys!

If this helps...Here are some themes that came to my mind while I
looked through the JustShootMe pool:

-Night shots

-Nature
(the green stuff and the flowery stuff, the turning leaves and the wide
open fields and stuff.)

-Animals

-Abstract
(some of the nature closeups would fit this category...as well as some
night shots.)

-Travel
(some of you traveled to exotic places, some just got out of the
beltway... either way, I'd consider these travel shots.)

-Washington DC
(this kind of overlaps the night-shots theme...but when I see the
collection of monuments/landmarks you've shot, I kind of think it is a
nice representation of the city.)

-Black and White

-Hmm...and how about a category that is something like: "A fresh look
at our everyday environment" where you can pull together those closeup
photos, or the photos of your room/apartment/home that Stephen
suggested we take a while back, and other photos that make you notice
something new in your otherwise ordinary surroundings.

There are a lot of categories you could do...hmmm. I don't know. The
good thing is that you can always display more photos with different
themes at a future exhibit!

two cents is what I'm worth,
Laura

I am going to jump in here too to let you know that any display items
such as mounts, wall hooks, etc will be picked up by Ebz/NCC.  All you
would be responsible for is the framing/matting or whatever other type
of presentation you decide on.  Once you decide which way you are going
to go, we can figure out what types of mounts, easels, etc you guys
will need.  I am so excited about this you guys and can't wait to see
your work displayed prominently and for more than a couple days this
time ;-)
