It has become apparent in recent Months that the group is not functioning as it should. Activity has fallen to an all time low. Although I am not surprised at this, seeing that I have in no way been able to promote it as it should have been.
I have discussed this with our two N-Scene moderators (Shane and Brad), we have reached a decision that all group activity should be suspended until Summer 2009. To allow myself time to work on relaunching N-Scene with a fresh breath of air, new contact, new focus, new affliltions, a new focus, and new teams with dedicated areas of management (news, reviews, global location reports, and work on a new N-Scene newsletter..).
It is sad the group has not been able to lift itself. But I would like to thank all members whom have chosen to use N-Scene as a platform to voice their words. Also to our two moderators Shane and Brad, you have both held on from the start even though over the Years many things have changed in our own lives.
The very next step will be the suspension of all group activity on the 6th of September. This will give members the time to post replies before the suspension. The group will still accept membership joining requests but none will go through until the group is reopening in Summer 2009. Also a message will be posted on our main page making clear what is planned.
All current members will remain on the groups members list with all their postage settings preserved. No posts will be deleted and will be available again fully once the group has been reopened. If their are any further changes to this plan I will always email the group before hand. During the time to Summer 2009 and especially near to reopening, I will email the group with updates.
I will also welcome contact from members willing to take up a moderation positions in the group also contact from webmasters willing to affiliate with N-Scene.
N-Scene is my creation opened for all Nintendo gamers and I along with N-Scene's members will make it relevant among the internets Nintendo gaming communities.

In fairness alot of the Sega & Nintendo groups I am a member of have gone quiet :(
The only group I am a member of that is still active is a multiplatform one. Most users talk about the X360 mostly and occasionally talk about other platforms etc.
I spent a few hours today playing TimeSplitters 2 on the Gamecube today. Still great fun and I managed to do a couple of the challenges that I had previously given up on.

I am reading as well and also thought this was a bit much, time-wise.
As we have all become quiet slugs in here, I would think we have already "paused"... I understand that you personally may need to wait to have the time to dedicate to resuscitating the group... but I'm not sure that time will have any affect on the members themselves.
Might I suggest that if you must suspend the two-way functionality, that you at least leave oneway... and maybe signup to some Ninty-specific news feeds to be posted here? While many of us probably already get at least one, and probably don't talk about them because "everyone else already read that, I'm sure"... seeing it here can trigger comments that we might normally have kept to ourselves. I know I'm that way.
But, do as you must. I'll be here, even if I don't talk much (I just save it up and make one or two really LONG posts a few times a year) LOL

Lol, no the group suspension is not to remake everything. It is to allow us to to pause for a while.
But most importantly it will be from Spring next Year that I can give N-Scene the commitment that it deserves and needs to become useful.
Many thanks for your input I am glad you are still reading posts.

Yes, but the time is meant purely to give the group a pause and enable us to get the boat in order, making appealing to outsiders to come in a join us and make N-Scene the place to bring their Nintendo discussion.
It's not simply gonna be turned back on and be just as it was when it was suspended and expect you all to start posting in some hyper rate.
The discussion was based on the fact that the group is dieing. Everyday day/week/month going by with decreasing activity is doing the Scene more damage than suspending it. We are a discussion group with hardly any discussion. What does that tell people thinking of joining us?
All I ask is that our present members hold on and await our return. We will be more than you expect and be able to say you were a part of it from the start.
Thanks again Raven. You've always been one of my favourite gamers on the group.

Yes, I noticed the same. Everything Nintendo is tending to slowdown. I think it might be due to the climate of games being released.
The group however needs proper leadership, for instance I should be using the opportunity of Mario Kart to try and get us all together and setup competitions. But I am at the moment unable to do this.
Timesplitters, is an awesome game and I have many fond memories playing it. Again, I should be able to push that as a strong point for joining the group for fans of the game.
Many thanks to you Andrew for sticking with the group and posting.

I'd rather belong to a group that has something useful to say a couple times
a week than spamming my inbox with every thought based on fads and being
cool.
The list is hosted by Google Groups....why not just leave it turned on and
work on a newer group in parallel?

Ok the group has now been suspended. I've setup the message facility to only send messages from group moderators. We will post update messages to the group whenever neccasary.
I would like to thank you all for your pantcience in this time.
I am very looking forward to sitting down and spending some serious time with the group and doing some proper gaming when we reopen in Summer 2009.
For all people visiting the group pages during our shutdown they will see a message briefly explaining what is happening and they will also be able to browes group pages and posts.
Many thanks again and enjoy your games whichever they may be.
