But I'm loyalty challenged. I use and have tried many types of
sketchbooks. Some I really like. But the thing I always miss is my
elastic band. I've tried to improvise - rubber bands (meh, not very
aesthetically pleasing). I even tried stretching out a couple of those
Livestrong-like big rubber bracelets (they all broke).
So, I'm wondering if any of you creative types have come across or use
other types of bands for your other notebooks?
I covered up my ugly stitching by stitching a couple of small pieces
of leather over the stitches.
I tried another one with the same stitching as above but this time
making a tube from the leather, turning it inside out and then sliding
it overthe elastic BEFORE I stitched it up. That one looks a little
better.
My initial use for it was to make an elastic for my wallet to hold
cash- bifold wallet that used to have a bill clip on it, i ripped that
off because it kept ripping my jeans. This elastic works a lot better.

Sounds relatively painless though I have zilch experience on a sewing
machine. I like the look. Very rustic.
Thanks.
