Has anyone ever used one of the City Notebooks by Moleskine? I'm
heading to Berlin in about a week and just ordered one from Amazon. I
was just wondering if anyone had any advice on using them, as they are
not really guidebooks. They're really journals with city-specific
reference info (like maps) at the front. Any ideas?

I have a Paris City Notebook and I have the policy that I note
everything in it (restaurants, bars, museums, sights...) which I
consider worth mentioning to a friend who is going there. I have also
given it to friends that were visiting and by letting them note things
we have a good collaborative guide-writing effort going on.

Have a great time in Berlin!

(To get you started: there is a very nice Tapas bar near the
Hackescher Markt‎ Station, http://www.yosoy.de/)

I visited Chicago last year. I would LOVE to have had a Chicago City
'skine, but they weren't yet available. I absolutely loved Chicago
and hope to go back.

I'm leaving for Berlin tomorrow night, and am looking forward to the
opportunity to use my new Moleskine. I'll be sure to let everyone know
what I think of it!
