[MEDITECH-L] Zynx Alternative?

We are starting our PCM module (with CPOE) and need to build order sets.
Zynx would seem like the only one to turn to, but with a starting price in the 6 figures, I have to ask if there is a better way for us to go.

All the fancy stuff they do would be nice if money were no object, but it IS.

Does anyone have suggestions on an affordable way to get a starting point for standard order sets for common inpatients in our 100 bed community med-surg / ICU / Peds / OB / Rehab hospital?

I am told the order sets we have on paper somewhere now are not really used much and may not be a lot of help to us in doing the Meditech setup.

Wolters Kluwer has a product, as does Thompson. Both of them seem to stack up well against Zynx, and both are significantly lower priced than Zynx (and I mean SIGNIFICANTLY). I particularly liked Wolters Kluwer product, not only because they allow you to own the product (Thompson and Zynx are subscription basis), but also because WK actually OWNS and PUBLISHES all of the content - they are the publishers of every med school, nursing school, and probably pharm school text book and professional practice magazine. Furthermore, while our net present value analysis showed Thompson to be a financially more palatable option, their functionality and their customer service did not nearly touch that of WK.

PS - have fun with PCM/PWM and (GOD FORBID) Clinical Review. CR seriously is the most disappointing piece of programming I have ever seen (and I was in IT for 15 years before getting my BSN). Unstable, buggy, poor data integrity. With three weeks of semi-rigorous testing, we have identified nearly 50 defects in data presentation, workflow, and navigation.
