At Moore State Park, sunny, lower 70s:

1 Black Swallowtail
1 Cabbage White
3 Clouded Sulphur
2 Eastern Pine Elfin
8 Spring Azure
1 Mourning Cloak
4 Juvenal's Duskywing

3 Duskywing spp.
1 Anglewing

1 garter snake basking in the grass.

Watched a J. Duskywing dart out at the passing Black Swallowtail and they
went skyward at each other for quite a while. The contrast in size was
comical. Spunky Duskwing. When they finally settled back down, they both
perched and gave me good looks. The swallowtail was pristine and quite
beautiful.

One of the E. Pine Elfins, settled on almost the underside of one leaf of a
clover. About a foot and a half away I saw a black and dark tan crab spider
heading like a shot straight for that clover. Can't imagine how it even saw
it through all the grass from so far away. I thought spiders are
near-sighted. But, as soon as it got to the stem of the clover, the Elfin
escaped. I wondered if the elfin detected the motion of the spider touching
the stem.
