Newbury yard and Andover,5/6

Hi Folks,

 

Yesterday in my Newbury yard I had

 

4 American Ladies -- foy at this site!  One was ovipositing on pussytoes.

14 Spring Azures--  Mating seen. Seems to be a new emergence, after none for about 2 weeks. Perhaps Cherry

                            Galls, or perhaps just the weather??

1 Mourning Cloak

 

 

Also on 5/6, Howard Hoople had

 

2 Brown Elfins on the Boston Hill part of TTOR Ward Reservation in Andover, and also 1 American Copper somewhere in Andover. The Copper is the first report from this area this year -- and it's about when the first brood usually emerges here.
