Congrats to all who did the boogie! I know it has been said before, but the MTC group is the best!! At the start I was very quiet because I felt very nervous. Not sure how it would feel to stay up all night(9:30-10 is my bedtime). I have done very little night running. I borrowed a light from Doug.I would start to feel better once I got running and started to talk with friends. Lap 3, I was sticking to my pace and would be join by Rosemary. She came out just to run some with me. Tom G would join us for my 3rd time down and up Bethal. The 4th loop would be the toughest. I would hit some low points and started to have doubts about a finish. At the church Marie and Tom H could see my distress. Tom would run with me down and up bethal for the 4th time. This would be the most walking I did the whole night. At the top of the hill was Tom G, who stuck around to do the last 10 miles with me. Tom was awesome!! Thanks buddy! He would do a very planned walk-run. The boogie was in my reach. As we headed down Bethal for the last time and reached the turn around, Yeh!!! from here I can walk Bethal, but to my surprise my competitive nature kicked in and to not be past by another runner I would need to run most of the hill. Tom would coach me to the top with a painful but Fantastic finish!!!!! I did it!!! Forgot to look at the watch because we were so excited. We believe it was around 10:10. Toughest thing I have ever done. Thanks to Doug and all the volunteers. Thanks to all. You give me so much inspiration!I MTC is the best, glad I did not CRASH! Chris

Proud of you, Chris!
It was just an all-out tough night. I try to do one 10-mile loop every time the Boogie comes around, and that and the Hinson Lake 24 are about the only running events I do these days. Saturday I stuck it out through cramps and bug bites and when I finished I wondered if I'd done too much. Felt better later, after drinking lots of water. The couple of times I crossed paths with you on the course, I didn't think you were having such a rough time. On the other hand, I stopped running altogether and walked the rest of the way right after those cramps. I know you felt good you didn't pack it in. I felt good about doing what I'd set out to do and not flopping into a chair before I finished that single lap.
