Let's do Daley Ranch but start from the Humane Society entrance. This is an
early uphill start but not bad and a great way to finish the ride. If you
don't see the screen shots below, change your email to view html (are there
any of  you still out there using "Plain Text") ???  J

Diane Belnap stated: .  Best directions are stay on El Norte Parkway past
Daley Ranch (do not turn left on La Honda).  Go thru 4 or so stoplights and
turn left onto Valley Parkway.  Go to the second stoplight and turn left on
Bevin (or something close to that name).  Take a right at the Humane Society
sign.

Google directions below so take either or take your own.but just be there!!!

Hi all,
What level of difficulty is this ride? I'm new to SD and just started MB again after 15 years off. Thanks.

I would say it's an intermediate ride only because of the pace and length.
There is nothing really difficult (not many rocks) and there is a lot of
fire road but there are a couple fairly steep climbs along the way (Cardiac
Hill). If you can ride at a medium+ pace for 3+ hrs you can make it. We do
stop and re-group along the way.

We leave no one behind. unless they decide to go back but it's best to drop
"Bread Crumbs" along the way if  you plan to return to the parking lot !!!

Subject: MTB Rides in San Diego

Hi All,

My name is Evan Grobler and I am from South Africa. I am a keen MTB rider
and will be visiting San Diego in February for 2 weeks, arriving on 3rd
February. I need some advice with regard to riding in your area. I am
training to do  a 3 day stage race in May and would like to maintain my
fitness levels. The stage distances of this are 85km, 95km and 75km on very
hilly terrain with ascents of up to 2000m per stage!

I will be staying at the DAYS HOTEL and would be interested in joining a
group of MTB riders. I am NOT a pro-cyclist so it is more
"time-in-the-saddle" riding I would like to do. At the same time it will
give me an opportunity to see your City, meet new like minded people and to
get to know the area and what better way to do this than on a MTB.

The reason for visiting San Diego is that my wife will be playing Tennis in
the World Veteran Championships, hosted by the City of SD. I would like to
watch some of the tennis as well but I can't see myself sitting there every
day for 2 weeks!

I would thus like to find out the following:

1.       Is it possible to hire a MTB from a dealer/hire shop/cycle shop for
the period or per day/per ride?

2.       I would like to join a group and go on some of your rides. I have
checked and notice that there are many beautiful trails to ride in and
around San Diego.

I would appreciate some comments and suggestions re the above.

Kind Regards

Evan Grobler
