Hello all,
After reading the comment on lisdude.com about winmoo being an
antiquated port of lambda, I'm wondering what other options I might
have? This is the second time now that I've tried to reproduce
essentialy the same code provided in a moo tutorial with no success on
my end. I don't believe it's an issue with my client, as the verb
editor receives the code, but fails to compile, even when my code
looks exactly the same as the code provided in the tutorial. Recently
I've taken to programming(not just in moo) in a big way and would like
to take my abilities with moo to the next level. I'm wondering if
there are more modern versions of lambda available that I might be
able to try, or different cores entirely. Also, if there are any moos
looking for a coder who is willing to learn and put in the time
required to do so, Feel free to get in touch.
Thanks,
Nick

There are definitely more modern versions of LambdaMOO around.  You'll have better luck overall if you build and run it on Linux or OSX.  Cygwin is possible, but I know of no one who has found that to work flawlessly.  No sense trying to learn a new technology while also fighting a lot of unnecessary incompatibilities/limitations.
