All,

Ok I am sure i am overlooking something simple but i need help figuring this out. What i have is the following.

Ubuntu 12.04
running lambdamoo server
router has port forwarding enabled

I can connect to the moo using localhost and the port. I can also connect using the internal network ip address and the port. For some reason i cannot connect using external ip address. I am not certain what is going on here. any help would be appreciated. I do know that it was all working a few months ago before i upgraded to 12.04 ubuntu.

thanks,

Kenny

Kenny, can you tell us a little more about your network configuration
and where you are trying to connect from.

What do you mean by router has port forwarding enabled? Is that specific port (TCP) forwarded to the internal IP for your Ubuntu server?

This is what it looks like in my router using ddwrt, see attached file.

I think i have narrowed it down some. there appears to be an issue with linksys wrt120n routers and port forwarding. I know it is not an ubuntu issue because i tried with windows and still had the same problem. I upgraded the firmware on my router and reset to original configuration and tried again with no luck. so i am fairly certain it is either an issue with the router or some configuration on wireless internet modem. Once i get the problem solved i will pass on the word.
