If you have already heard about the RL-List, please ignore this e-mail
and accept my apologies.

===============================
Reinforcement Mailing List Launch

Group details:
* Name: Reinforcement Learning Mailing List
* Home page: http://groups.google.com/group/rl-list
* Email address: rl-...@googlegroups.com
===============================

By popular demand, we have recently launched the Reinforcement Mailing
List, rl-...@googlegroups.com.

The list has been around for a while, but we've only started promoting
it a couple of weeks ago. We don't have an explicit charter or
etiquette rules (yet). If you have interest in helping shape the
group into what it *should* be, please join and request to be a group
manager!

Here is the group's description:
----------------------------------------------
This is the discussion group for reinforcement learning, managed by a
group of graduate students and faculty in the reinforcement learning
community. The idea of this group is to announce and discuss ideas and
events that are relevant to the reinforcement learning community at
large. Members are invited to send messages, create pages, and upload
files to the Group in order to better share information amongst
ourselves.
----------------------------------------------

This list can be a resource for all of us, and can be used for
everything from asking questions (someone asked "Is anyone aware of a
proof that prioritized sweeping converges?") to announcing postdoc or
faculty positions, posting new papers, or finding collaborators for
interesting research projects, etc.

The list membership was seeded with over 100 people who have expressed
interested in such a list over the years. Many of the big names in RL
have already joined, including (after a quick scan) Rich Sutton,
Satinder Singh, Csaba Szepesvári, Remi Munos, and many more, including
many graduate students working on RL.

You should sign up to the list with your preferred Google account (not
necessarily Gmail) if you have one. Of course you can subscribe and
unsubscribe at your leisure with whatever accounts you want. It's
useful to bear in mind that you'll need to register a Google account
for whatever e-mail address you intend to send mail *from* when
addressing the list.

Basically, just sign in to Google however you normally do, and then
come to http://groups.google.com/group/rl-list/ and find the link to
"join this group". You can set options to change your e-mail delivery
schedule (every e-mail, daily digest, or no e-mail). You can also
sign up via the RLAI web page: http://rlai.net
