Subject: Amaali's chocs and bars
Hi Amaali & Theo - thanks for visit, esp since you live at Newport so long drive.
1. Everything tastes delicious is the uniform view.
2. First the products and contents (all organic)
a) Raw supergreen bar 70gm (normally wrapped in plastic with a paper wrapper) but we would not want the wrappings
Almond, chia seed, pepitas, medjool dates, and extra virgin cocoa nut oil plus "supergreens" - a mix of spirulina, barley grass and ...? (Leah knows)
Question - are any of the ingredients subject to allergy advice as one has to with peanuts and sesame?
b) Chocolates that come in several flavours with distinctive shapes
i) Basic one - raw cacao, raw coconut butter, medjool dates and spirulina (with the mearest pinch of Himalayan sea salt - so little you don't include it in the costing)
ii) Flavoured ones -
ginger / lavender and blueberry / supergreen
3. The bars keep almost indefinitely and the chocs keep well so there would be no problem in taking (say) a month's supply
4. Our normal method of dealing with cakes made by volunteers is to give them the ingredients (although we put through till to keep stock records straight) and then give them "energy points" for the time spent making them - 3 energy points gives them a "35% off" personal shop as much as they want.
5. That won't work necessarily for you as you make (or hope to) for lots of clients although there could be variants similar to that. Our normal business model is to load product cost incl freight etc by 86%, except fruit & veg 75%. So an alternative is to treat you as a supplier and pay you for products then apply our normal loadings.
6.However, since we stock (or can) all or most of your ingredients, there may be an area in the middle.
7. I have suggested to you (and now to Board) that we start by ordering a supply from you and see how we go and in the meantime Leah will supply you with a list of prices at which we buy stock.
8. Just thinking about the bars, if your price to us was $3 each then we would retail at $5.60, if $3.50 then retail $6.50. You and Leah talked about $1.50 a chocolate that sounds enormous to an non chocolate eater. A corresponding price to us would then be about $0.80 each.
9. As discussed, maybe we could order 5kg (ie 70 bars) or 10kg (140 bars) of the supergreen bars and X? of each of the chocs. Sorry, running out of steam & time.
10. We can talk some more when you've had a think about it. As discussed, I'm certain I can get you a write up in Manly Daily with a "Death by Chocolate" or choc off challenge assuming Richard's chocs will be in it (I'll find out early next week) and hold it on a Sat morning outside Red Earth Cafe.
