Hey MCSEAns!
Wow. You guys have taken MCSEA to a whole new level. I was the leader of
MCSEA in fall 2006-spring 08, and I want to thank you for making the
organization so strong. I would love to hear how your grid neutrality
campaign is going.
If you're not too busy kicking ass and taking names, you should want to stop
by the *1Sky Leadership
Summit*<http://org2.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=72677281&url_num=...>
**, a training designed for seasoned activists like yourself. This is the
perfect time for you to take your climate leadership to the next level! The
summit takes place at the *Washington Theological Union (right near the
Takoma Metro) **<http://org2.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=72677281&url_num=...>
** on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th in Washington, D.C*. We're
expecting organizers from up and down the East Coast. I would love to have
more students, especially high school students, attend the training.
You’ve already made major contributions to the climate movement, and this
summit is designed to build on your skills. *It includes sophisticated
policy analysis, advanced organizing training, and the opportunity to
coordinate with organizers from around the region*. Because this moment is
so crucial, 1Sky has asked the premiere training organization in the field--
Wellstone Action -- to facilitate. At the end of the weekend, you'll have
an action plan for pushing strong climate legislation through Congress.
You can use your skills at the optional *Lobby Day *on Monday, June
29th. People
are trying to gut this climate bill, just as we need to strengthen it. We
need to ask the Maryland and Mo.Co. delegation to do more, like urge their
reluctant colleagues to strengthen the bill.
Please take a minute to *sign up for this leadership opportunity
today*<http://org2.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=72677281&url_num=...>
*.* Email me if you want to go to the lobby day. If you have any questions,
email me. I hope you can make it! :)
Peace and hugs,
Missy Rice
