I can load linux without boot loader ? All hard disk is for Linux OS,
and no other operating systems

hello,
i am installing redhat9 on flash
it get install properly but when i reboot after installation
it says boot device is not proper select another boot device & restart
i hv already check in flash that flash is detected .
i hv installed grub on MBR
plz help me

U don't need to install Windows to use Wine..
However if u have a pre-installed copy of Windows to use as the Windows
Folder, it would be helpful.. as the dlls that you would require will be
present in your pre-installed Win distro.. It is not mandatory thou..

configure a domain in linux

hai friends....
I have a linux box which is used as a server for windows workgroup.. I configured samba and its working fine... Now I am asked to make it a domain becoz of security issues.. I know how to do the same in windows 2003 server.. what all i should do.. somebody help me in doing this.. I am not a professional in Linux.. so help me

hai friends
i just want to know that is there any windows installation required otherthan linux in the hard disk to run wine.... my plan is to copy some exe files(developed in VB) to linux and run in linux.....
will it work

actually I found out that I need to make a initrd.gz file so it will load
the usb module before mounting the root file system. If anybody knows how to
do this that would be great, because the readme in the /boot directory are a
little vauge. thanks

There can be millions of reasons for this..
If possible post few lines from the output brfore the Kernel Panic..

Hi, I am trying to run slackware off of a external 60Gb Seagate Hd. The
installation goes fine but when I attempt to boot it checks the BIOS
successfully but after a few lines of booting it stops and reports a kernel

SMBMOUNT permissions

dear friends,,,,
I have a Workgroup with one WinXP manchine and one Redhat9 system. I have shared a directory on my winXp with all permissions. On my linux box, I have Samba Running. I can use the "Network Servers" from the menu ( GUI ) of the linux and I am able to see the share from Winxp and I am able to read and write to that folder.

Dear Manu,
You first configure the linux box as samba server. Its not a tedious job.
You just start the daemon using the following command
/etc/init.d/smb start
Then you can use the mount command to mount the shared folder in your
windows box
