on my middle spiral what I did was use magnates core box bit number 810 the
11/2 inch diameter core box bit
and ran it down the centre of 2 pieces of wood then glued them together to
make one piece with a 11/2 inch hole up the middle then made a sacrificial
piece that fits neatly up the middle a genital tap in fit not too tight and

Thanks Bill,the outside spiral, Does that mean you drill out the
center first and then cut your spiral with the sacrificial
inside,that's seems to be why I have chunks flying off and sod it
another wasted log,boy what a thicko I am,as I said this forum is

the best thing it needs is a dam cross slide leadscrew and steady rests one
or more make a great differance to fight vibration too I was always going to
make 2 ajutable rollers that run the whole length of the revo as well as 2
shorter ones for different diameter work as a lot of the work it does is

Great to hear! I think a better locking system is in the future for the Revo
owners. Some thing quick and solid. A full depth, single pass cut is a lot
of strain on the equipment.

Hi All,
How many Revo owners do we have lurking here? The time to speak up is now. The Revo is in jeopardy, and I would like to be able to help Revo owners and possibly offer accessories for the smaller model. I know about Mac and Bill, anyone else?
More importantly, anyone willing to step up to the plate to buy a Revo soon? There is news on the Revo front despite Legacy's appearance on their own Web pages. Roger hinted to this, but I'm waiting on a few responses before spreading rumors. It's as clear as mud at this moment.

Point taken that it's good to be aware of the issue but...It's those things
kinds of things that need to be eliminated so simple errors don't happen.
Those are the little tiny things that ruin projects quickly.

I've been victim of my locking knob which is the same design as the revo
getting loose, that's why I added using the shaft collars and locking the

locking the knob does work to a point but if you don't keep an eye on it
with vibration after a while it can work loose and the cross slide moves its
not a great problem if you know to keep an eye on it and yes you could use
the stops but I usually have one side set so you cant hit the rails with the

Hi Mac and Bill,

The carriage moving off of center is a good tip too. From the pictures I
can see the revo has a knob that tightens the carriage from moving. I also
know it has stops that are screwed in the side to prevent travel. If I owned
a Revo, I would lock the knob down AND set the stops against the carriage

Thank you, it has bushings but they are no were near worn out and when they
do Ill make my self new ones I have a steel turning lathe at home and im a
machinist by trade so im not worried about that but thanks for the heads up

dose the REVO have bushings or bearings?
My 1000ex use to have bushings, and when the bushings got worn, I would get
some weird errors with in my work. Like your flats.but it was not constant.

Hi Tim its been a while but with mine I got a DVD on assembly and a very few training videos I learnt most from the site and from you guys on here and you tube and lots of trial and error
