If you want, you can replace &lt;br&gt; this somewhat sensitive information with placebo.

  I just chose port 1081 to avoid using a default port and ensure there &lt;br&gt; was no conflict in case other apps wanted to use port 1080. &lt;br&gt; But yes, I changed it in AVPN.   I should add, that if I do this in terminal: &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;ssh -D 1081 username@servername -p port &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;it works just fine in Firefox and I can telnet to 1081 etc. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;So the problem seems to be within AlmostVPN, even though it does not &lt;br&gt; report anything... ? &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;/Soren

  When I create a SSH server connection, and enable Dynamic Proxy, &lt;br&gt; FireFox will report &amp;quot;Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that &lt;br&gt; is refusing connections.&amp;quot;. I can also see, that if I telnet to the &lt;br&gt; proxy port (port 1081), the connection is refused. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;This on Mac OS X 10.5.4, latest updates. AlmostVPN 1.6/226.

  Are you getting &amp;quot;Fatal Error ... contact leaping bytes&amp;quot; dialog? If &lt;br&gt; you are, then most likely the reason is not iTunes, but recent &lt;br&gt; (actually it is not so recent any more) Java update. You need to &lt;br&gt; install latest build of AlmostVPN 1.6/226. Do no bother with &amp;quot;un- &lt;br&gt; installing&amp;quot;, you can just install it on top of old version.

  <title type="text">Itunes 7.7 Update Breaks Almost VPN ??</title>

  LeapingBytes, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I have found that since yesterday my AlmostVPN is not working, since &lt;br&gt; that time I have only installed two &lt;br&gt; applications: &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;1/ Microsoft intelimouse prefpane for OS X (since removed) &lt;br&gt; 2/ Itunes 7. Update. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I can no longer even open the AlmostVPN Prefpane, I am not sure if &lt;br&gt; this is directly related to itunes or not,

  Yep... The E option caused the problem. I have added the logging of &lt;br&gt; the event. Was it the case of &lt;br&gt; the problem? Did your version of sed choked on &amp;quot;-E&amp;quot;?

  I found the cause of my problem. This had nothing to do with the &lt;br&gt; 10.5.4 upgrade. I analyzed the log file and it I found that sed was &lt;br&gt; causing my problem. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Just before upgrading to 10.5.4 I replaced the default installed /usr/ &lt;br&gt; bin/sed with an other version. This version did not work with AVPN. &lt;br&gt; Switching back to the default version of sed fixed all of my problems.
