LAKE COUNTRY JUBILEE
CONCERT UPDATE
February 15, 2012
GETTING READY
March 10th is just around the corner. And that’s when Gold City, Palmetto State Quartet, and the Crist Family will be appearing at Lake Country Jubilee together for the very first time. What a joy it’ll be to bring the Crist Family in for their first major concert in this area. If you’ve seen them at NQC or at the fabulous Gaylord Opreyland in Nashville, you already know they are a wonderful group. Like the Collingsworth Family, the Crist Family is loaded with talent. They present all 6 together plus several different mixes of trios, duets, and soloists to present each song as a new experience. Be sure and be with us as we debut this wonderful group at Lake Country Jubilee. Of course, Gold City has been presenting great gospel music for almost half a century. And with Tim Riley back anchoring the bass, that great “Gold City” sound is back!! And, Palmetto State Quartet has been singing continuously since the 1940’s!! What a history is ours to enjoy! Tickets are available at our 6 ticket outlets, by phone at 800-580-2697, or online. Go to www.lakecountryjubilee.com for complete details. Your loyal support has made it possible to keep our ticket price the same for the last seven years. And, as costs continue to rise, it’s even more important. You keep coming, and we’ll keep trying to bring this great talent. Thanks to all!!
I FINALLY DID IT!!!
In twenty years of doing concerts and radio programs, I have accumulated a huge music library. But, alas, it got too big to handle, and organize. Duplicates abounded- radio “compilations” discs by the hundreds! Some are old, some new. Some are collector’s items. So, at the March 10th concert we’re going to give them all away- free of charge!!! We’ll also be giving away hundreds of our older radio programs. These are on “music cd’s” – not data discs- so the royalties have been paid. It’ll be the greatest “give away” in our history!!! Come, and enjoy.
FACEBOOK??!!!
When I was a kid on the farm, communication was governed by how loud you could yell out the front door. No running water, no electricity, and no telephone. We drew water from a cistern, read by coal oil lamps, and spoke face to face. Look how far we’ve come in one lifetime. We now have many fans that regularly use Facebook to keep in touch with family and friends. Now, we’ve made the plunge- or at least dipped our toe in. On my Facebook page we’ve already posted some pictures of Jean and me, plus a picture of our Turbo Arrow Airplane. Although it still looks brand new, I actually purchased it new in 1977- 35 years ago! It’s been a member of the family ever since. I have a pilot’s license with an “Instrument” rating. So does our son, Brad. Later I’ll try to add more pictures of the plane, as well as our ranch, and pictures from our Lake Country Jubilee concerts. It’s the modern way of yelling out the front door to let our friends know what we’ve been up to lately. Check it out!!
