LAKE COUNTRY JUBILEE
CONCERT UPDATE
Jan. 26, 2012
WHAT A NIGHT!!
In our constant quest to bring the world’s greatest talent to Lake Country Jubilee, we don’t always succeed. But, sometimes, we hit a “home run.” Last Saturday, we hit a home run when the Isaacs brought an entirely new dimension to our concerts. Never, in our history, have we brought so many singers and musicians with so much talent on one night. We gave them some “extra” time to make sure our fans got a good taste of the Isaacs range of talent. And, according to the fan reaction, they could hardly contain the excitement!! And yes, we already have the Isaacs lined up for 2013. Of course the Kingsmen, who have been a part of our lineup for about 17 years, brought the crowd to their feet with their #1 song “That’s All I Need” and the classic “O What A Savior.” We had a lot of “new” fans in attendance, who blown away by what they saw, and heard. Even some who have been at almost all of our concerts for several years said it was the best concert we’ve ever presented. Thanks to all who came to share the night.
THIS AND THAT
The website has already been updated for the March 10th Lake Country Jubilee. We’ll be presenting a unique talent lineup that includes Gold City, Palmetto State Quartet, and the Crist Family. As far as I know, these groups have never been presented together previously! Tickets are available now by phone (800-580-2697) and online. Go to www.lakecountryjubilee.com for complete details… As the internet becomes more stable, and more accessible, our website is becoming more popular. You can now use you personal computer (desktop), laptop, or “smart phone” to enrich your life. On your iphone, you don’t even need an “app!” Just touch the “Safari” icon and type in our web address in the “address” window. From there on, it works just like your desktop! If you have a “droid” phone, go to their “Market” and download “Winamp.” Then go to “Shoutcast” and type in “lakecountryjubilee.com” and follow the prompts. If you have “Sync” or “Bluetooth” on your car radio, or an “audio jack”, connect up and enjoy our programming 24/7/365!! It’s absolutely wonderful!!!
ON ANOTHER SUBJECT
There’s a medical facility in Buffalo, New York called the Roswell Cancer Institute. It’s been active in cancer research for a long time. They are starting “clinical trials” on a new type of cancer vaccine. It works in a new way. They take cells from the patient and modify them with a new process. When re-injected into the patient they attack and kill cancer cells as “invaders.” And, since the vaccine cells are taken from the patient, there appears to be minimal side effects. The tests are on 20 types of cancer including brain, lung, uterine, and several other common cancers. These tests are expected to take about two years. And, for those pre-disposed to cancer, it appears to be effective as a preventive vaccine. A local radio personality, who is from Buffalo and is very familiar with this facility, is very optimistic they may be on to something. Let’s hope so. This has not been widely reported, but I believe it to be accurate.
