Dear Los Angeles Region FLL Coaches, Everyone who is interested in robotics is invited to bring your families to visit the Los Angeles Regional FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) event at the Long Beach Arena on Saturday, March 17. Admission is free except for $10 parking. FRC is the high school varsity robotics program. The four 2012 FLL Ambassador Teams will be giving FLL demonstrations in the lobby from 10 am to 4 pm, and you can watch 66 high school teams play a game similar to basketball with their 150 pound robots in the arena. More Judges needed for FLL Championship

To FLL Coaches and Mentors NOT attending the Championship: With only two days left until the Championship, we are still short of judges in all three categories. I have run out of resources and time, but we still need another dozen judges to fill all fifteen panels. I would be most grateful if coaches whose teams are not attending the championship could come and help us put on a great event for the teams that are attending the Championship. Due to the serious wind damage in San Gabriel last night, the schools are closed today and tomorrow and all weekend events have been cancelled. Many of the teams attending the December 4 event were also affected by the wind. Jackie Avakian is attempting to reschedule the event for Sunday December 11.... more »
