The next AgileKC Meeting will be held on Wednesday September 23, 2009
at 6:30 PM at the Pizza Shoppe in Overland Park.

Topic: Agile 2009 Conference in Review

Agile 2009 took place in Chicago on August 24 - 28, 2009. Mark
Randolph and Martin Olson both attended and will share their thoughts,
highlights and review of the conference. As agile processes gain
exposure and become more mainstream the community continues to grow.
Some of the fundamentals remain unchanged while other practices are
gaining more traction. Come join us and share your insights and
reflections.
We'll also have a round table discussion for the group to address any
challenges or questions posed by the group. In the past, this has
been a beneficial exercise for attendees to work through specific
issues they are having implementing an agile practice in their
environment.

Hope to see you there!

More detail on the next meeting of the AgileKC user group to be held
6:30 pm Wednesday September 23, 2009 (09/23/09) at the Pizza Shoppe in
Overland Park, KS which is on the south side of 95th street just east
of Nall Avenue (5285 W. 95th St).

Martin Olson and Mark Randolph will report on the Agile 2009
conference held in Chicago August 24-28, 2009. Some of the sessions
they attended:

Alistaire Cockburn's key note, "The Iceberg has melted"

According to Alistaire, Agile has become an
indistinguishable part
of the ocean of software development

Mary Poppendieck's "Scheduling is Orthogonal to workflow"

Mary advocates running software development more like
a
factory floor and less like a construction site
(Hmmm, that's thought provoking...)

12 ideas on how to do it

Other sessions…

CMMI and Agile
What does an Agile Coach Do?
Leveraging Maven2 for Agility
