A week ago, over at http://groups.google.com/group/aclug-discussion, I
tried to migrate the subscriber list from the current hosting (which I
run) over to Google Groups. I used the "add members directly"
feature.
I was told that Google would have to review the request in 1-2
business days. I made certain to carefully include all the
information asked for.
But it's now a week later, and there's been no indication of an
acceptance or a rejection of the request, and no communication
whatsoever. I thought maybe the initial request was lost, so sent
another a few days ago. Still no response. Is this feature broken?
Is anybody reviewing them? What's happening?

I don't know what you mean by "#number of pending requests." I was
trying to subscribe about 80 users, if that's what you mean. I have
no idea how many other people have been trying to do something.
So it's 3 weeks later and no fix from Google, and no evidence of even
an attempt to look into it.
Well, if you're not seeing a sentence like
Pending Approval #1002657
(just an example), it means that Google automatic management didn't
ask you for further details......
With more reasons, you could apply the thumb rule of inviting no more
than 14 members at once, or adding no more than 10 members at once, up
to 10 times a day.

I see no such "pending approval" sentence anywhere, but I may not know
where to look.
I did get a message after the submission that it was pending review.
Inviting 10 or 14 a day is completely crazy. How can I have a smooth
transition of a 100-member list if we can't move it over all at once,
let alone a 1000-member one?
Not "10 or 14 a day", "10 or 14 at once". In other words, bunches of
10 or 14 rows, one member each row.
Up to 10 times a day for addings, an unknown number of times for
inviting.
