I suspect that my original account has been wrongfully banned starting
with the Google Finance Forums, though there is no way to be sure
since I never received an email about it. Thus I suspect some
automation may have been involved.
I want access back for that account, please. I cannot believe it is
acceptable to have false positives in an autodectecting scheme for
abuse or whatever. It just means the spammers will learn the system
and game it against regular users. Peer review moderation works
decently, but a lot better with meta moderation (e.g. slashdot).
Voting on abuse just plain doesn't work (e.g. digg). Also, there
should be no such thing as a permanent ban.
Any Google devs out there that feel like tackling this problem?
Cheers
P.S. If Google is hiring I can solve this problem easily and elegantly.
